Rama

had (and continues to have) a prolific career as

doctor-researcher, having trained and collaborated with some of the most

outstanding scientists, have published groundbreaking research in the

prestigious journals, and received the honor of being an HHMI Investigator.

I imagine that all of you, except perhaps the first years, are aware of the work and role of Abul Abbas in your education as he is the editor of Robbins, the wonderful textbook of pathology. He is also internationally recognized in the world of research for having conducted pioneering studies in the field of autoimmunity. Additionally, dr. Abbas is the Chair of Pathology at UCSF and therefore may be someone you will come into contact with later in your career.
